What to do?
Thanks to its location, the visitor can enjoy the tranquillity of nature and visit the so-called Gran Bilbao.
Far from that image of the great gray industrialized city, today we can find attractive walks that go along the estuary to the same market of La Ribera.
An example of this is the new park in Bilbao started in 2002 as part of the urban regeneration of the Abandoibarra area. It is a modern promenade on the banks of the estuary, between the Palacio Euskalduna, the Guggenheim Museum and the Alameda de Abandoibarra.
Designed by architect Javier López Chollet, this museum-garden aims to cover the whole city in a linear fashion, linking the La Naja, Ripa, Uribitarte and even Olabeaga docks.
The route includes a children’s play area with avant-garde swings, an interactive fountain, an open-air café-terrace and an endless number of sculptures, including Chillida’s “The Watchman” and Dalí’s “Dancer”.
From our hotel you can also visit the coast, as beaches such as Bakio or Armintza are only a few kilometres away from the palace.
