ACTIVITIES IN THE AREA
What to do?
Thanks to the location of Casa Rural Etxegorri, many activities can be carried out in the surrounding area.
In the Gorbeia Natural Park you can enjoy a wonderful landscape and a great diversity of fauna and flora.
The height and location of Mount Gorbeia (1,482m) made it one of the five horn mountains of the Basque Country, from where messages were sent to the people through bugles and bonfires.
Just as those messengers did, from the top you can see how the historical territories of Bizkaia and Araba come together.
In this environment, we offer you the different experiences included in the Gorbeia Central Park project.
On the other hand, you will find Aiaraldea. The wide valley opened by the river Nervión on its way to the Cantabrian Sea has become the main identifying element of this region.
Now, with its recently opened Txakoli Route that combines tourism, gastronomy and wine, you have one more attraction to enjoy from Etxegorri.
But if you feel like strolling through Basque villages and capitals, Etxegorri is a good place to stop as it is only 25 minutes from the centre of Bilbao and 45 minutes from Vitoria-Gasteiz.
